Perched on a windy bluff overlooking the bustling coastal city of Costa Mesa, California, the Estancia Adobe remains much the same today as it did when it was built by Spanish missionaries in 1820. First used as a way-station for the herdsmen who tended to cattle owned by the Mission San Juan Capistrano, it later became the home of Don Diego Sepulveda, a former “Alcade” or chief administrator of the town of Los Angeles. After the era of the Dons ended, the Estancia was passed on to a variety of prominent families until it was deeded to the town in 1963 as a memorial to Costa Mesa’s early settlers and rich Spanish history. A tribute to both the Spanish Mediterranean and California Mission styles, Fairmont Design’s Costa Mesa collection blends the elegance of Old Spain with the more rustic style originated by the pioneers of California’s early Spanish Missions. Crafted of cherry veneers and select hardwoods, details of the group were inspired as much by the architecture of the period as they were by the furniture. Substantial scaling, gracefully-arching silhouettes reminiscent to those found in Spanish Mission-style homes and Mediterranean villas, rope twisted columns, intricate raised panels, a substantially distressed and burnished “cordovan” finish, rustic iron hardware, and hammered bronze accents are but a few of Costa Mesa’s characteristic design details. |

Features: Featuring an elegant blend of parquetry-styled ropy cherry veneers banded by quartered cherry accent striping around each square as well as the entire perimeter of the table top, the Reuni?n Trestle Table, which extends to 108” with two leaves, provides the ideal gathering spot for family meals. Featuring walnut and ebony stringing, gracefully-notched and shaped corners, a sturdy wooden stretcher and urn pedestals atop shaped feet, the design functions seamlessly with equalizing slides. For a decidedly different look, a variety of pedestal table options are available, including the octagonal-based single pedestal offered with either a 54” or 60” round ogee edge glass top, or, for larger spaces, a double-pedestal version offered with an 84” or 96” rectangular ogee edge glass top. Designed to pair with any of the tables, a handsome exposed wood chair, featuring a deep brown antique leather seat and outback and a matching chenille tapestry inside, provides stylish and comfortable dining room seating. For china storage, the impressive Arco Hutch and Buffet, reminiscent of the welcoming arched doorways found in Spanish villas, create an elegant focal point for the dining room. Featuring an elliptical arch on top and triple-beaded posts, the hutch offers full-height beveled glass doors, 3/8” glass shelves, and touch light dimmers. The 70” buffet features four doors with arched raised panel overlays, two generous drawers, turned rope twist posts, carved corbels, and bun feet. Additional dining room storage comes in the form of the distinctive Coronado Sideboard and complementary accent mirror. Featuring three hammered bronze inserts on the sideboard top, two arched doors with raised panel overlays, four large drawers, fluted posts, decorative corbels, and the collection’s signature rope twist carving on the legs, the sideboard offers an additional base shelf for displaying dining room collectibles. The attractive Coronado Accent Mirror, which pairs beautifully with the sideboard, is a unique blend of wood, hammered bronze, glass and nail head trim and displays the collection’s signature shaped and notched corners.
